The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center sets a "Green" example The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center (RRB/ITC)—which is owned by the General Services Administration (GSA)—is dedicated to implementing "green building" policies that focus on energy conservation, pollution prevention, sustainability, and waste reduction. Our commitment to thrive as a sustainable building is founded on a four-point "green" strategy that includes: (1) sustainable landscaping, (2) recycling, (3) environmentally preferable purchasing (EPP), and (4) employee ride share programs. The RRB/ITC considers environmental stewardship and eco-friendly procedures an essential part of our mission. Our promise to you is that we will work diligently to develop exciting and innovative ways to improve—in an environmentally responsible manner—our building's procedural and maintenance practices, as well as our event operations. We believe this benefits both the environment and our guests.
Our ReSOLVE (Resource-efficient, Sustainable, Organic, Leading, and Visionary Events) initiative is an important component of the RRB/ITC's "green building" policies and is patterned after the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's 14-point "green meetings" checklist. This initiative enables groups of all sizes to hold world-class, eco-friendly events in our premier event space and conference center. Highlights of the program include: offering recycling bins in meeting rooms, providing recycled paper note pads for meeting guests, donating leftover food, and offering innovative eco-inspired meeting breaks.
