Celebrate Mickey: 75 InspEARations

To celebrate Mickey Mouse's 75th Anniversary, The Walt Disney Company and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities will bring 75 uniquely designed, six-feet tall, 700 pound Mickey statues to Washington, DC.

From March 19 through April 30, 2005, the statues will be displayed on the Woodrow Wilson Plaza at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. The display is free and open to the public 24/7. Except for Disney Parks and Resorts, Washington, DC is the only place where all 75 statues will be on display together.

The Mickey statue program is comprised of Disney legends, artists, actors, athletes and performing artists who lent creative talent or simply creative inspiration that resulted in each statue. Artists include: Ben Affleck, Elton John, John Travolta, Shaquille O'Neal, Tom Hanks, Wyland, Ellen Degeneres and Raven, to name a few.

A free kick-off event on March 19 (11am-2pm) will feature a three-hour fun-filled festival with appearance by Raven (the star of Disney's hit television program "That's So Raven"), local dignitaries, artists and of course, Mickey Mouse!

The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center is located at 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, between 13th and 14th. Easily accessible from the Federal Triangle metro, and 2 blocks from Metro Center. A parking garage is available in the building.
